This course focuses on the important and sensitive topic of workplace violence. The intention is to educate Canadian workers and employers on creating a safe and respectful workplace. This course applies to Canada Labour Code, Part II Workplace Violence and Harassment as well as Ontario Bill 132. On completion of the course, the learner will understand the requirements of new legislation governing workplace violence and harassment, promote awareness of employer and employee responsibilities, recognize harmful effects of violence and harassment, understand bullying as a form of harassment, be able to outline the employer obligations regarding domestic violence, will comprehend the definition of violence and harassment, be aware of the right to refuse unsafe work, understand how to apply learning to actual cases arising at the workplace and be aware of what to do and how to get help.
